"I was fascinated by the diversity of the logistics business from the very beginning. I particularly like the opportunity to plan career steps flexibly and in a self-determined manner, depending on talent and personal disposition"
Over the years, logistics has become my passion," is how Alexandra Moeck describes her work in the sales field service at MBS Logistics in Hallbergmoos, Upper Bavaria. There she convinces customers, partners and colleagues with her professional competence and also has that certain amount of empathy that makes her so successful. She is the third in the group that we would like to introduce to you today in our series "Strong Women Successful at MBS Logistics".
The 39-year-old power woman is a native of Thuringia and sympathised with the logistics industry early on. "I was fascinated by the diversity of the logistics business from the very beginning. I particularly like the opportunity to plan career steps flexibly and in a self-determined manner, depending on talent and personal disposition," says Moeck. For her, this "out-of-the-box thinking", as she calls it herself, is still an important prerequisite for being successful today. Accordingly, after graduating from high school, she quickly decided not to study, but to train as a forwarding merchant. Immediately afterwards, she began to gain her first practical experience in the operational business at a logistics company, and in 2009 she switched to sales. When the MBS branch office near Munich opened in January 2015, it was clear to Alexandra Moeck that she wanted to be part of the founding team here and thus be involved in setting up a branch office for the first time.
When asked whether she still considers the logistics industry to be a classic male domain, she knows from her 20 years of professional experience: "I would perhaps no longer describe the industry as a male domain, but we women are still in the minority. Women are simply good for sales. We show communication strength and empathy, question a lot and smile more often."
In her work, Alexandra Moeck focuses on authenticity, flexibility and open communication. As a salesperson, she sees herself more in the role of a consultant who looks for suitable logistical solutions together with customers and contractual partners. "There is no point in making false promises. I show what's possible and my customers always know where they are with me. But the quality of my work is clearly also dependent on the performance of our entire team. We all pull together and work on the further expansion of our business," she says, looking to the future with confidence even in difficult times. We wish Alexandra Moeck continued success and all the best!
