Reducing emissions – step by step
We are continuously working to reduce the transport-related emissions associated with our customers’ shipments. This includes assessing suitable transport options, working with partners that use or trial lower-emission technologies, and continuously developing our digital solutions.
Within our own organisation, we are also implementing specific measures. These include improving the energy efficiency of our sites, adopting new technologies and supporting selected climate protection projects.
Our action areas
Process efficiency
We are dedicated to optimising processes to minimise unnecessary transports and energy consumption. This is an important lever for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With an efficient transport and logistics network, modern facilities and IT systems as well as highly skilled employees, we aim to drive sustainable solutions every step of the way. Our software solutions enable us to measure and optimise our logistics processes. We partner with Carboncare to efficiently calculate transport footprints, and our supply chain software allows customers to assess the overall impact of their supply chain through quarterly reports.
Energy efficiency
We prioritise energy efficiency by deploying energy-saving solutions and leveraging emission-free and low-emission technologies whenever possible. Our commitment to progress extends across our network, warehouses and offices as well as through our carrier partners who share our dedication to sustainable transport solutions. In our warehouse, for example, we utilise LED lights as well as battery-powered forklifts, and we continuously seek out the latest innovations in energy-saving technology.
Innovation
We support research and innovation through selected partnerships, with a focus on technologies and concepts that may help reduce emissions from logistics operations. Several of our carrier partners in Germany are currently trialling vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions. We are also exploring digital and AI-supported solutions designed to improve process efficiency and optimise the flow of goods. Where these measures deliver measurable environmental benefits, they can contribute to reducing the environmental impact of logistics processes.

The first step towards reducing emissions is to measure them transparently. In collaboration with Carboncare, we enable you to calculate the emissions associated with your shipments. Our free calculation tool provides a clearer data basis and helps you identify opportunities to reduce transport-related emissions.
CO2 calculator in cooperation with Carboncare
Customers can support certified climate protection projects through the non-profit organisation myclimate. Its website myclimate.org provides information on the available projects and the corresponding CO₂ certificates.
